The Houses

When architecture, Alpine panorama and loving care turn a house into a home.

Boys and girls are accommodated separately. The different age groups also have their own space so that they can have independence and feel more at home. All houses reflect the Spirit of Zuoz” values: Respect, openness and fairness are indispensable prerequisites for successful coexistence in the boarding school houses of Chesa Cresta, Chesa Arpiglia and Chesa Urezza for the girls, as well as Spencer House, Kleinhaus and Grosshaus for the boys.

House Captains

Together with the Heads of Houses, the House Captains (student representatives) help their respective houses to organise boarding school life. This includes the sports programme as well as preparation for house matches and internal school team competitions. The Captains have the task of setting a good example and motivating their fellow students to become actively involved in the school.

Individual support

Education is our top priority. We ensure that each child is cared for through close cooperation with Class Teachers and dedicated boarding school teams. The school’s internal data management system provides additional information about students’ latest grades and any school-wide announcements that require a quick response. Parents also have access to this information wherever they are in the world. Private lessons and additional support courses are also available.

I simply feel at home here! Together with my classmate Rebecca I moved into a room at the Chesa Arpiglia this year. We often spend our free time with other house members, but also with friends from other houses.

Community Weekends

A wide range of activities at weekends – community combined with lots of fun!

Every four weeks or so a community weekend takes place at Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz. These are weekends where all boarding school students stay on site and participate in various activities. The community weekends – as the name suggests – promote a sense of community among international students, while enabling each student to explore his or her interests. Day students are always welcome to participate in the activities.

Community weeks are always a real highlight! Whether it’s group sporting, events or trips. Fun is always at the forefront! The internal bond between the students grows tremendously as a result.

Holiday Offers

Relaxation and fun combined with enjoyable learning – summer and winter holidays spent with us offer the perfect mix!

During the holidays we offer a wide range of activities. This year includes two social projects in Malawi and Borneo as well as a sports and adventure trip to Lanzarote.

Last summer, I had the choice – hang around in my parents’ backyard or discover other countries and cultures together with my friends. It was a no-brainer, and this year I will definitely be part of it again!

Services

Meals, healthcare, housekeeping – we take care of the details so that children can feel at home!

Of course, being away from parents means that students at a boarding school live a life of independence, but this does not mean they have to do without the benefits of a family home. We provide a variety of healthy food choices at each meal. If a child gets injured or has a cold, our staff is right there for them with access to local doctors. The housekeeping team takes care of daily hygiene and cleanliness in the boarding school and even has a dedicated laundry department, while a school shop with a wide range of supplies and office supplies is also part of our service to students.

As a cook, I appreciate our excellent teamwork. Even if it gets hectic now and then, we never lack respect for each other, and it’s simply fun to work here day after day.
