The small class sizes and individualised lessons allow us to provide students with tailored instruction, ensuring they receive guidance at their current level. Depending on the grade, the curriculum also includes English, French (Italian on request), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Economics and Law, Music and Art.

It is our priority to ensure that pupils are motivated to succeed in our intensive and closely supervised programme. We keep parents regularly informed about their child’s progress. At the end of the year, we make a recommendation for transfer to the regular Matura programme. In the first year of the Matura programme, students must pass an internal entrance exam and must obtain the German B1 certificate, which we naturally will prepare them for.

Compulsory subject in lessons per school week

Our German Intensive Year provides a seamless transition to the Matura by offering the same subjects and curriculum as the Matura, without the pressure of selection. It is of particular importance to note the significant allocation of time dedicated to German and Mathematics lessons, with 12 and 10 lessons per week, respectively (see example timetable on the right). In order to participate in the German Intensive Year, applicants must demonstrate a minimum German proficiency level of A1+.
