The Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz is an international boarding school with a history stretching back over 120 years, located near St. Moritz in the heart of the scenic Engadin valley (Switzerland). 220 boarders from around the world and 110 local day students study at our school for the Swiss Matura, the IGCSE, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP). We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated Geography educator to inspire and challenge students within our dynamic international learning environment. The opportunity has arisen to appoint a colleague in the following role, starting August 2025.

Teacher of Geography & Environmental Systems & Societies (ESS)

Workload: 70% – 90%

Responsibilities

  • Teach Environmental Systems & Societies (ESS) and Geography in the International Section, to students from Grades 7 – 12, including:
    IB Diploma ESS and/​or Geography (both Higher and Standard Levels)
  • Act as a tutor (pastoral responsibilities may be included as part of the role).
  • Participate actively in the school’s extra-curricular programs (e.g., sports, arts, leadership, or service).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support and develop cross-disciplinary learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • University degree in Geography, Environmental Scienceor closely related subject area
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • IBDP teaching experience (essential)
  • Proven experience teaching diverse learners in an international context.
  • Commitment to student-centered learning and engagement in both academic and co-curricular programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative, multicultural environment.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to engage in the life of a residential school.
  • Swiss/​EU/​EFTA citizenship is an advantage
